What we have been up to

Posted: November 16, 2021

Time is flying! So, we wanted to give you a little insight into what we have been up to lately. We worked hard to remove and replace old elements and outdated workflows to improve overall performance and stability, but also added a few new ideas and features. Here’s a quick overview:

Smaller, Faster, Better

We still had a lot of luggage from older development versions we had to get rid of. By cleaning out rigorously, Virtofy now uses less memory and loads contents a lot faster.

Linear Color Space

Virtofy now uses a linear color space instead of a gamma color space. This allows a more nuanced and balanced look of lights, shadows, contrasts and colors, improving the overall visual quality of all Virtofy tours.

Automatic File Optimization In The Virtofy Editor

You can now load standard image formats (like jpgs and pngs) and Virtofy optimizes them automatically for realtime 3D, resulting in faster loading times and a reduction of memory and disk space usage on all devices you share your tours with.

Updating The Unity Plugin

The Virtofy plugin for Unity 3D has been updated and now fully supports the latest Unity 3D LTS (long term support) version.

Better Voice Communication Quality

Since meetings are an integral part of Virtofy, we reworked our voice communication system to allow better audio quality for an improved meeting experience.
